Testing turbidity at omaru creek

I am going to find out about the turbidity, and how bad it is at omaru creek.

I am going to test this by getting 4 emptied jars and to fill it up with the culvert water, bridge water and the dam water .

The Resources and equipment that you will need is 4 jars, 2 or more buckets and string as well.

I predict that the catfish dies immediately and if you catch a catfish in the water, there is one step that you have to do and that is to never stick it back in the water alive you must kill it immediately.

I think this because catfish is a really dangerous fish, and it can come out of the water, and wriggles it self out of the water, and go somewhere else and eat more insects, and they can hold their breath longer than you can imagine.

Why I think this is embarrassing because our school has been played by people who think it is ok to chuck their clothing and rubbish in our creek but we are so lucky to have a rubbish catcher to catch all that rubbish in the culvert part.

Results of my tests

Sea Water	22,15 I think that because it is not really that clear and it has little bits in side of the jar.
Tap water	13 I only had a look because it looked so easy to look at instead of 23.
Omaru Creek water by culvert	I couldn’t think that the culvert water was the cleanest of them all.
Omaru Creek water by bridge	I could see a lot of the dam water but no numbers at all

Turning fractions into mixed numbers

I am learning to turn improper fractions into mixed numbers it might be a little confusing but you will get use to it I have created one on top of my writing take a look at it then you might get what I mean.

Improper Fractions

This is how my learning intention and making improper fractions and using mixed numbers. I am learning to make a fraction use what is left that doesn't fit in these fraction parts, Next time I will practice to be perfect then I did for my own practice sheet.

Making fractions

Yesterday, afternoon my group the diamonds had to wash our hands and get into groups of two. Then my teacher gave each person a hand full of play dough to make some fractions in different kind of ways. When we rolled it into a little ball and flattened it with our pams it felt soft and it was just like my pillow.

Then we had to cut one chocolate bar into halves then we will do what it said on the fractions mat. We made and chocolate bar cut it with a bamboo stick in different shapes. When we got the play dough it felt so squishy, slimy and disgusting.

The next day after ICT and music room then we went back to class and made some play doh when all the groups came back from the ict room and music room. When we came back we got a piece of play doh each and we used it to help make fraction.

I felt really happy when my teacher took a photo of my fractions and dividing in halves. Next time I will work more harder then before so I can be the best in the whole call.

Invaded

Lizara's Paralympic Event

Did you know that Cameron Leslie Won the 150 meter individual medley? Cameron Leslie was missing some of his limbs on his arm and elbow. Philippa Gray and Laura Thompson was in a bike race and two people had to be on a bike but with two sets.

Many amazing people had to paddle to gather so that they could win as a team. I think next time they deserve to win another gold and bronze so they could make us win more. The girls were working so hard and the other people representing their countries and have a happy time with their family.

New Zealand has got 4 golds, 3 silvers, 4 brone and their total score is 11th. As you know, there are 160 countries competing in the olympic games in London England 2012. The paralympians work so hard because they will want to win the gold medal.

School Idol

Well muttered means that someone is trying to understand what the other person is trying to say or sing. Bling means that they are asking their mumu if they can use some of you jiley and clothing. They are planning to dye their hair the same colour so they can look the same. Tomorrow morning when Nathan mum has gone work and dad is mowing the lawn.

They had to fill up this paper to get into the school idol. The school idol is starting on Monday the 26th. The boys what saying that they might use the same dye so they can look the same. When they were planning to dye there they were going to do it when mum is gone work and dad his mowing the lawn.  

They were deciding which rap they will say but then josh said what about a cat one he “asked”. The boys were so shy but when they herd Mr Butler call out the name they got even scarier but then they got use to it. The JoNaZa crew was “applauded” well the word applauded means that they were politely clapping their hands. 

Josh was waiting and waiting and he “said it was boring”. Mr Butler was so relieved when he announced the JoNaZa crew to come the the stage. He was relieved because it was the last performance for the day. That was because he was too nervous but when he put his head up he was getting uset to being on the stage.

Amazing Cross Countrry

When it was morning time we got to do a little bit of writing and planning were we would go so we don’t get lost. Then we went to assembly. After assembly we stayed at the hall for a talk so we can tell which way we will go because it is going to be a very long run. When it was morning tea time we had a play because this will be the last time to play at school. Then we had c.r.e we only had a short one, or else we will miss it !

When it was lunch time we got changed into our clothing. Then we had to go to room eighteens class and sat down by these chairs that says 9,10 or 11 years old and that is where we sat. Mr Burt and Miss Garden walked us to the beach and that was where we were going to start so the 9 years old girls went first and then everybody else started following.


When we got up to the part when you see this white ground that is when  we saw people telling us where to go so we can see the way the orange flags and some people were filming us going past so they could put it on the news at school. The wind was blowing my hair and it was kind of slowing me down and that was when this other girl went past me.


When I got up to Tamaki College I started jogging because there was nobody behind me and I was so tired. Then I saw our school I was so excited because it was so tiring and hard even though it was muddy. I noticed that I was the fouth girl out of the nine year olds, but my friend was the secound ond and her name is Kevine.


I felt felt so excited that I came fourth and I hope I do better next year and come second or third!

The Olympic Games

The summer olympics are going to be held in London,England,in great Britain 2012. The Olympic generation was inspired by London. It is going to be opening in July the 27 2012 in London England.The games are going to be closing in August 21 2012. The Korero for the Olympic games is inspired a generation.

The Olympic Flag

Did you know? that the olympic flag represents five interlocking rings well interlocking means that the five rings are locked together and they can’t move from each other. These colours of the five rings are blue,green,red,yellow and black with a white background. The five parts of the world represent the olympic movement that is joined together. During the continents in the olympic games in ,Africa,Americas,Asia,Australia and Europe. Baron pierre de coubertin designed the olympic flag in the 1913 to the 1914.

Lizara Equestrian Olympics

My olympics is equestrian and it is about riding a horse and jumping over things. It will be so easy only if you knew how to ride a horse. You will need a helmet just in case you fall and bump your head on the ground.


It is played by wearing the right clothing and how to ride a horse that is how you could win a game. To win you will need to smack the horse with a string or something like that so you can go faster to win the race. Then you will  need to go across the finish line to win.

Equestrian started in England in the eighteenth century. It must be so hard riding the horse because when the horse jumps it goes really high and you might fall off. Equestrian first appeared at the ancient Olympic games in the 680BC.

The equipment that you will need and the right clothing is the clothing you could fit and is it good for sitting on a horse.  Then you will need a field so you could have the space that you will need to do for your sport.You will need to teach the horse new skills to win the competition. 


When you start the race you will need focus and speed really fast only if you want to win. Then you will need to jump really high and slow down when it is really close to the other thing that looks like a stick but stand up.

Art Reflection Two

Your Task: To paint your photo using the colours you have chosen. Use your final draft to help you figure out what four colours you need for your backgrounds.

1. How do you feel about the work you did? Why?
I am so,so happy  about the work I did because I use a nice colour and bold outlines .I feel so happy about what I did with my picture and my favourite part of painting with on my piece of paper was using different colours.


2. What do you feel that you did well? Why?
The thing I think I did well was having a practice on a piece of paper and when I finish Miss Ouano gave me the real paper and it wasn't a practice any more.

3. What do you feel you did not do so well? Why?
What I did wrong was painting on the wrong side and using the wrong colour's and losing my practice sheet to copy.
4. What would you do differently next time? Why?
What I would do next time is to not make any more mistakes and try my best next time and it did look cool.

Party Cloudy:

When I first saw the short film the partly cloudy I was excited. At the time when some birds gave some people quite little babies, kittens and puppies. But when it came up to the battle there was really good clouds that makes nice thing but when I scour the other cloud that makes really bad thing and it was so sad because he was just trying to be nice but he made bad babies.

It was kind of sad because the dark cloud was making bad babies and the clouds above the dark cloud was making really quite babies which was nice. But when it came to when the dark cloud cave the bird the crocodile the bird thought that it was quite but the crocodile ate the birds heard which was not nice of him. When the bird came back the cloud gave him a dog with horns on its head but it was so funny when it was kicking it on his cean.

When the bird came back the cloud made a sharpy hedgehog and when the bird holded it he had this sharp thing from the hedgehog and it went on his hand it did look sour. When the cloud put the hedgehog in the bag his sharp pointy sticks went right through the bag and the bird did not feel like taking it but he did he looked so, so funny. When he came back hif fear was coming off and the ird did not want to take the next thing so he just flew to the other cloud and made the cloud really angry.

The main message is having true friends and friendship. Also having true friends like the dark cloud and the bird they are really true friends even when the bird went to the other cloud that has light and is on top of him. The main character is Peck and Gus plus the other clouds that has more spirit .

Your Task: To complete a draft for our Pop Art. You must make sure you count all the colours you need and plan what colours you are going to invert before you colour. We need to make a draft so that we know exactly what colours we use when we start our screen printing.
How do you feel about the work you did? Why? I think it was kind of good and kind of bad as well.

What did you do Good? Why? what I did good was colouring and I do love it.

What did you do Bad? Why?What I did bad was making mistakes in my andy warhol experience.

What would you do differently next time? Why?Not to make mistakes and work really hard and stop talking to much.

Andy Warhol's Style Of Art !

            
Guess what? Andy warhol died in 1968 but before he died he drew a lot of pictures that are really cool. I am talking about an American artist of Andy Warhol. Andy Warhol is a famous man because he was an amazing artist when he draws a lot of pictures like Marilyn Monroe and lots of other famous people. He was a religious man and he did volunteer work at homeless shelters. Andy Warhol got three shots and he still survived, do you believe that?

He is famous for being involved in the pop art movement and he was called the Prince of Pop art. When he was young he showed that he was very talented drawing people like Marilyn Monroe and Mohammed Ali. Andy Warhol is really famous because he draws a lot of other famous people,places and food and he is popular for creating supermarket products. Did you know that Andy Warhol actually produced himself on photos all around the world and on movies as well?

Andy warhol takes pitchers of famous people and he silkscreens it with opposite colors on to his art paper. He does all sorts of different kinds of thing like marilyn monroe and he even did a sketch of Mohammed Ali. Andy Warhol uses bright colors that shines through art he draws. He uses bold outlines on is art paper.

Andy warhol uses inverted colors on his art work and he uses bold outlines. In the 1928 Andy Warhol decided to paint daily objects that were mass produced like coca cola bottles and soup cans. He also liked making silk screen of famous people, food and also shoes and all sorts of other kinds of thing like Marilyn Monroe.


Andy Warhol is an American artist. I love him because he is my favourite man that is an artist. He uses bright colors and he also uses bold outlines with his lovely work. He screen printed over photographs of famous food, drink and celebrities just like Marilyn Monroe, Mohamed Ali, Mao and of course Michael Jackson. My favourite part of Andy Warhol's art is when he uses bright and shiny colors on  his art paper which is very cool.

In the holidays my four aunties came for a visit and my cousins also came as well. I was really excited when they came all the way from rotorua. 


The next day my auntie said that we were going to go to Rainbow's End and my auntie took me and my other four cousins and my sister. When we got there and paid for the rides. We went to the Fear Fall and then we went to the Roller Coaster. My other cousins went to the gold rush which was quite scary but it was really fun.

When my aunties and cousins went back to rotorua my mum wanted me and my sister Martha to go to my nana's house when my mum said that me and my sister got really excited because my nana well let us go with her son and daughter to the park. Then she will give us pocket money for listening and doing what we are told to do that is the reason why she is the best nana I had ever had. When my mum and dad came to pick us up we had breakfast and then my mum told us to pack our clouse and all the other stuff like our shoes and that because it was time to go to my auntie and uncle's house because they wanted as for the weekend it ws cool at my auntie and uncle's house.





On the the last week we went to Point England beach and had a picnic there when we finished eating we went to the pack and some of the children went with my dad for a swim and had a water fight. When we went home my mum said that we had to clean our room up and the the sitty room as well when we finished we got pocket money. then we went to the shop and brought us some goodies and a drink which was delicious.






When we came home my mum said that my aunties,uncles and cousins were going to come to my house for a  sleepover so we can have enough children to play with just so the kids don’t get bored. When it was night time we started to eat all the goodies and drinks while we were watching the movie called imagine that it is all about when the girl goes to this imaginary world. The next day we had to get ready for school before we went to school my mum and dad brought our lunch and morning tea when we finished going to the shop we went to school.  

Camp Experience

On Wednesday guess what ’happened it was the year 5 and 6 camp. I was so excited because it was my first time going camp this year. 


When the other groups went to go and do their own activities we waited for them to go so we can start our activity.Then our group got to play our game and that first game was is rollerblading and also ping pong. When I finished rollerblading we swapped rotations just like when you change rotations in the classroom.

On Thursday my group got to do camp cooking. The girls got to go with Mrs Jarman and the boys got to go with fire rawin. While the boy were doing their own thing, the girls went to bake some nice cookies for morning tea. The first thing we had to do was washing our hands so germs don't spread around, when we finished washing our hands Mrs Jarman told us to get in groups of twos. When we got in groups of twos we had been given ingredients, a bowl, a spoon, a knife and a fork.

When it was the last day of camp my group had to get in line to do jump jam just to warm everybody up. Then all the teachers told us to get in your own group to have breakfast when we finished doing jump jam. My group had to line up so we can get some points,then Miss Garden told everybody that went camp to get their cups and bowls so they can put their breakfast in the bowl.


My group and the other groups got to go to swimarama. Then the camp groups had to stay with their camp teacher just in case they get lost. My group and the other camp groups was only allowed to swim half of the pool. When it was our turn to go on the hydroslide which was really cool and fun. Then it was time for lunch we got to have milk shakes, pizza bread and we also got to eat rolls.


Finally we went back to school and had a short meeting in the hall. Then we were allowed to go home. I really enjoy camp and I can't wait for next year!

Healthy Food.

Healthy Eating,

Healthy food is important because if you had breakfast in the morning so that means that you

are a healthy kid. If you did not have breakfast at home then that means that you have, not been

healthy at all and that means that you might of bean sleeping in the classroom well doing your

work on your net book Because if you go to school and have morning tea or lunch in your lunch

box so it will need to be healthy not like pies,fizzy drinks,chocolates,lollies and big packets of

chips.Well because you might get fat if you want to lose wight then you can eat healthy food

and there is another way and that is going for a run going for a bike ride and taking a potal of

water that’s really healthy.So your brain can make fast awake in stead of being lazy jeering

class time.My mum is trying to lose weight by eating healthy food just like bananas, apples,

oranges, pears, blue berry's.
